Who likes Cedar?
Check this new side table top I'm nearing completion with. It's 2'x2' and will have x style legs underneath. Oh that's reminds me, underneath is currently topside….
What am I talking about? Well what you see here in these photos is the underside of this tabletop, but on top. I'm finishing the bottom first before the topside gets finished, this way I don't have to flip the topside onto its face because I have to finish/sand/seal the underside, potentially ruining a newly finished topside.
So I like to start the finishing process with the underside and after sanding to 220 grit paper for a silky smooth feel, iIve oiled the wood and will be applying a finishing wax tomorrow.
The wax is just for the underside. Now as far as the topside goes…..😉
Let me just say this, if this is what the underside looks like, can you imagine the topside? The side where I showoff my handcraftiness with the epoxy resin colors….
That's right, the topside looks nothing like the underside! Stay tuned, I'll share after I pour the clear epoxy topcoat for the topsides finish. Yes, I think it looks so good that it deserves a $100 epoxy resin clear topcoat for its finish. This table when it's all said and built, it'll last a lifetime. It'll one day be an heirloom for someone's lucky grandchild and sonon and so forth. 😁
