Honey Locust

An awesome client of ours brought us this beautiful honey locust slab and wanted it cleaned, debarked, flattened, sanded and lastly, finish it with a clear epoxy flood coat for sheer awesomeness, the durability and strength to protect this slab for years to come!

The biggest challenge and personal feat was all the previous dweller dig out covering the live edges that needed to be filled with epoxy before a clear epoxy topcoat could be poured, needless to say, 2 weeks of taping the edges as a dam to pouring black pigmented epoxy, followed by sanding, then back to taping making a dam to back again pouring, flipping, sanding, back and forth back and forth and finally we present the world a work of art! A few more days and this piece of modern nature will be ready to head home!
